 Diaper Registration

Due to the growing need of families that need infant diapers, we are having to make some changes.   We will be taking new applications on line Feb. 15.  At this time please submit information in the contact area of this web site until we can make improvements to our registration forms.  Also we are no longer taking applications or registrations over the phone for infant diapers.

If you are in need of ADULT diapers, please call 239-910-8198.  Leave us your name, phone number, and a detailed message.  Someone will get back to you as soon as possible.

We are always in need of sizes 3-4-5 diapers for children.
The reason is because at these sizes the babies do not grow as fast from one size to the other.
Right now we are in need of sizes 1 - 2 - 6 diapers

We are always in need of sizes S - XXL pull-ups for seniors.
Our adult population is growing at a pace that has become challenging to keep up with.  Funding from the Goverment to most area agencies has been cut and more adults are turning to us for this help.  Most adult diaper expenses are close to $200.00 a month.

Destiny Diaper Bank is in need of adult pull-up diapers & Pose pads.

As more and more seniors are learning about Destiny Diaper Bank and the help that we give to our most fragile and vulnerable population, we are running low on our adult pull-up diapers and pose pads.

Our largest donations come from families of loved ones that have passed away.  They are very grateful to us and all of the people that we help. At a time when there is sometimes pain and suffering from the loss of a loved one, the thought that their donation is going to help so many people is somewhat of a relief to them.

The facts:

  • ·           People that are in need of diapers or incontinent supplies do not receive them from WIC, Food Stamps, Medicare, or Medicaid.
  • ·   If they are low income and in need of diapers the wait time to become eligible for help from the government is close to 8-9 years.
  • ·   The cost for someone in need of diapers can range from $100.00 to $200.00 a month.
  • ·             Abuse and neglect is more likely when a senior is in need of diapers and have to depend on others for this help.
  • ·               A senior sitting in a wet or soiled environment is more likely to suffer infection that can sometimes end in death.

Destiny Diaper Bank is here to help.  We are a 501 C 3 non profit charity helping low income families that are in need of diapers.  Your tax donation may be a tax deduction to you.

Please send this to those that are in a situation that may need diapers or to those that can help to donate diapers.  For information call Rev. Rebecca at 239-910-8198

Again, thank you for any help that you can give.  Together we can make a difference in the lives of many.

 Moving Moving Moving

We are still in need of our own building.  Around 3,000 sq. ft. of donated space.

For five years we have operated our ministry from 1510 SE 46th. Ln., Cape Coral, Fl. 33904.  During those 5 years, we have distributed over1 million diapers, clothing, baby beds, wheelchairs, strollers, car seats, toys, maternity clothing, medical supplies,  bed-side toilets, shower chairs, 30,000 bottles of lotion, 10,000 bottles of pedialyte, formula, and 15,000 bottles of pre-natal vitamins.  I will never forget our first quarter that we gave over $195,000.00 in needed supplies to needy residents of SWFL. Thanks to most of you we have been able to achieve great heights.  When our connection came with Huggies our distribution grew to 3,000 diapers a day to individuals, local agencies, crisis pregnancy centers, day care centers, and women's abuse shelters.

We have seen tears dry as we have filled homes with not just baby items, but a sence of security that we would be there.  I walked out of a 7-11 last week and a women came up to me and said,  "I know you.  You helped my daughter out when she had her first baby.  I just want to say thanks."

In early March our landlord came in to the center in tears.  The owner of our building wanted to make changes on his building in hopes that it would attract more income than the $750.00 that we were paying.  I was pretty excited thinking that this was the push that we needed to change locations and better serve those in need.  Well, it has not all happened the way I thought.  (Have you been there?)

A friend of ours helped us out with 2 large buildings for our diapers and other donations, but they can only be used for storage.

Thanks to all of you who have continued to support us and believe in our cause. We believe that generations will be changed through those that have chosen to associate with us and our programs.  We do not believe in just giving a hand out, but a hand up.  By encouraging education and providing help with needed diapers, and other baby/adult items lives can be changed.

We still have not secured money through grants and have not taken any goverment funding. We still rely on donations from people like you.

If you can help please do so now.  If you need to send a check you can mail it to 1402 NE 5th. Ave. Cape Coral, Fl. 33909.  If you need to speak to me my cell is 239-910-8198.

We have several up-coming events and would love to have you volunteer.

Looking Back on 2011

Dear Friends,

We are so very close to the end of 2011 and just like most of you we have had our challenges and our victories. I am looking forward to the new year with new plans and goals.  I love the fact that I feel as if I can begin again with a clean slate into the new year.  Maybe some of you feel the same way.  Hope & Grace.

At the  beginning of the new year we were still in Destiny Center in South Cape.  Most of you did not know that we lived in the back of our warehouse.  I made a decision to support my passion to help others instead of continuing a personal lifestyle.  My husband retired from 30 years of painting and took an early retirement to support most of our expenses for the ministry. I learned to cook everything out of an electric skillet and everything else we nuked. We used a small sink for bathing and had to nuke the water if we wanted anything hot.  It was sometimes a pretty funny sight.  I have to admit, we had a lot of laughs and some great memories.

In March we were given an opportunity to move into another building with no rent, which we thought was a great direction for us, but just before the move, that opportunity closed, so now we are out of a building to work from.  We need a building somewhere around 4,000 sq. ft.

We found a home to move into in NE Cape where we are operating our ministry from. This is not a permanent situation since once again we have to find another place to live since this house is up for sale. A friend of ours has given us some space to temporally store diapers and any donations along with some of our personal items.  This is not a building that we can work out of.

During the summer we distributed diapers from anyplace we could, most of which were from parking lots across Lee County. Even though this year has been difficult, we have still distributed over 30,000 diapers a month to infants, "special needs" children, youth, adults, and elderly.

Right now we are renting some space at Fleamaster's Fleamarket to distribute diapers, clothing, and other needed items.  The location is great since we serve a large population of people from Lehigh Acres, Immokalee, and the close surrounding area. Those that need diapers are given an appointment time for pick-up.  Our biggest challenge is trying to answer and return phone calls.  On some days we have close to 75 calls and most of the time my mail box is full. The number is 239-910-8198.

We are still serving infants that are NB to age 2 that are in need of baby diapers..  To qualify their parent needs to show proof of WIC, local photo ID, and legal documentation of date of birth.  For youth and seniors we need to see photo ID, & Medicaid card or Food Stamp card to receive adult diapers.

Last year we:
  • Distributed close to 360,000 diapers
  • Served 14,467 families
  • Donated 17 strollers
  • Distributed 358 cans of formula
  • Donated 32 beds for babies
  • Donated 8  shower chairs
  • Donated 2 wheelchairs
  • Donated 7 high chairs
  • Donated 5 bed side potties
  • Held baby showers for  42 moms
  • Donated jewelry/Mary Kay products to 242 moms.
  • Donated 6 bouncy seats
  • Donated clothing to over 10,000 families
  • Donated 18 baby swings
  • Donated 14 mattresses
  • Donated 1 queen size bed / bedding
  • Donated food to over 4,000 families
  • Donated 4 baby glider chairs
  • Donated a lot of toys, stuffed animals, etc.
Received-----------A lot of thanks and gratitude
